The Research Center for Astronomy and Applied Mathematics of the Academy of Athens is pleased to announce a one-day workshop entitled
“From Clusters to Galaxies: The Dynamics of Stellar Systems”.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Headquarters of the Academy of Athens, Panepistimiou 28, in the Main Hall of the Academy, from 09:30 to 14:30.
Attendance is open to all interested researchers.
The workshop will feature seven invited talks covering a broad range of topics in the dynamics of stellar systems, from star clusters and dwarf galaxies to galaxy interactions, spiral structure, and barred galaxies. The talks will be presented by the following invited speakers:
Prof. Christos Efthymiopoulos
Department of Physics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece
“The Evolving Distribution Function and the Mass Loss Rate in Tidally Disrupting Stellar Clusters or Dwarf Satellite Galaxies: An Approach through Lindblad Diagrams”
Dr. Preben Grosbol
